It's natural
for couples who are planning a summer wedding to feel panic set in as
they watch temperatures reach record highs and the UV Index go off the
chart... Have no fear! Most weddings are
held almost entirely indoors, WITH air-conditioning and have no cause
for concern.
There are only a few times when you will really encounter the heat...
•
outdoor
photo shoots
•
outdoor
receiving lines
•
indoor or
outdoor locations without air conditioning (usually the ceremony
location)
Here are some tips for staying cool at your heat wave wedding...
•
bring a
cooler with bottled water, fruits and veggies for down-time sustenance,
and a few ice packs to keep both you and your food cool (keep your
cooler in the limo for less hassle)
•
use your
air-conditioned limousine to cool off in between events
•
pack
deodorant in your bridal emergency kit
•
if your
indoor location has no A/C, consider renting large fans to cool your
space
•
consider a
gown with a detachable train for less weight
•
gather your
locks together in an 'up do'
•
select a
veil that can be detached from the clip or tiara

Charmanté becomes one of the
hottest bridal salons in Waterloo Region by making shopping fun and
pressure-free
Owner, Janis
Diebolt, has roots
so deep in the bridal attire business that she was
practically born in a bridal salon. Janis’ mother owned
the largest bridal salon in Canada (Bridal Penthouse in Kitchener) throughout the
‘60s and ‘70’s. Janis worked the busy salon from 1970 on. With over
thirty years in the
wedding industry, it’s not a surprise that she has, with a lot of help from her
family, made Charmanté into one of the hottest bridal salons in Waterloo Region in just
under two years. This gown shop found their key to success is offering a
wide selection, no-pressure sales, and an environment that makes gown shopping
fun and easy.
We met with
owner, Janis, her daughter Amber who is managing supervisor and also oversees
the store on a daily basis, and their staff at Charmanté Bridal & Evening
Wear to learn more about the styles, designers and services they offer - from
bride and bridesmaid gowns to attire for the mother of the bride
and flower
girls.
Twenty-four
years ago Janis founded Bridal Classics, a wholesale company creating some of
the most exquisite veils and head pieces in Canada. Their designs are carried in
over 500 bridal salons across the country. To compliment Bridal Classics'
thriving wholesale business, Janis and her family opened a retail outlet in
Kitchener for the finest in wedding gowns and accessories. They had been
operating for fourteen years under the same name - Bridal Classics...

most romantic proposal:
by idreamy
Hey all. I guess
Ill jump in too & tell the story of our proposal. I had a funny feeling for
a long time that something was going on but was in denial that it could be a
proposal! One evening we were going to a Christmas party, but FH wanted to
go to a nice fancy restaurant first. The place was booked except for a late
time & he said we could just do it another day, but I said we should do it
because I knew something was up. During dinner, Fh was bugging me about a
ring I was wearing on my left ring finger because he thought it was so ugly.
He managed to take it off & said "Ill put it back on but you have to close
your eyes first" eek!
So I
said ok & was soo nervous. He slipped on a ring that felt different than the
one I was wearing, & said I could open my eyes. There was my beautiful
engagement ring on my finger. He held my hand, said a little speech (I dont
remember what he said!) & asked me to marry him. I was breathless but
managed to say yes

I went dress
shopping again with my Mom and my Dad
this time, and I found the dress of my dreams! The funny thing was, I was
getting really discouraged and was just about at the point of thinking that
I would never find "THE" dress. The lady that was helping me then pulled out
my dress... It's really pretty and a little different. It's Champagne
coloured with spagetti straps and an empire waste line with lots of pretty
little glass beads down the front. I'm SOOO excited and happy. I also found
the perfect veil and Tiara. yay!
OK, I know I'm
babbling, but the best part is that the dress happens to be the exact colour
as my mother's pearls that were given to her by my Grandfather. My mother
has offered to let me wear them, and since my Grandfather died a number of
years ago, its the perfect way to have him at the wedding.

We're Finally Married! Yay! chat fave:

Here are a few
pictures of our day! They are all amature, I won't get our official ones
back from the photographer for a couple more weeks!!! The ones with the tent
were our ceremony and were taken at my in-laws farm! I think that everything
looked gorgeous!!!! I wish you could have all been there to get the full
effect! The others are from our reception (1st Dance), and some pictures at
different locations! ENJOY!!!
