The Kanellis
family goes beyond all expectations to make sure every bride and groom leave
Golf's with a story to tell |
|
It
seems like just about every couple or family in the community has a story to
tell about Golf's - whether it be of their anniversary in the Dining Room
alongside the Grand River, their corporate Christmas Party in the Golf's Royal
Room or their Ballroom wedding reception. And now The Ring has a story to
tell too... At
Golf's Steak House & Seafood, the Kanellis family goes far above and beyond any
reasonable expectation of service, and almost always at no extra cost to you.
From setting up your decor and opening doors for your guests to serving seconds
on plated dinners and distributing after-dinner mints and toothpicks, you're
treated like family. Your rolls will be served hot, your drinks refilled, your
alcohol charged by the ounce (not the bottle), and you'll always have a Kanellis
family member present to help you with anything else you need. With a location
that backs onto the Grand River and a capacity of up to 300 guests, this
restaurant and banquet centre offers the option of hosting your ceremony,
riverside photo shoot...

Pursuit of worry-free wedding getaways brings couples to capable staff of
Carlson Wagonlit Trillium |
|
When a local travel
company's main focus is on weddings with flexible options and customized packages, and
has fifteen
years experience, it was easy to see why tons of brides and
grooms end up here on referral basis alone. From honeymoons to 'weddingmoons'
(also known as destination weddings), Carlson Wagonlit Trillium
Travel Services does it all and then some. They book and organize three to four
weddings per month, and host wedding information seminars at Langdon Hall. Resident co-ordinator, Bonnie Hutchinson admits that
there is never a dull moment when you're catering to brides, "We do so many
weddings that
it seems to run in our blood." We sat down with the
staff at Carlson Wagonlit Trillium in their welcoming office to find out more,
and to see how they can be experts in so many areas from cruises to Europe, and
from Vegas to tropical destinations... Isabel and Rafael Pinheiro
have owned Carlson Wagonlit Trillium Travel Services since its beginning fifteen
years ago...

Brentwood specializes in old-fashioned chauffeur service |
There is no
shortage of people who have excellent things to say about Brentwood Livery. I'd
heard from both brides and other experts in town that Brentwood was a call I
needed to make. When I finally met David, his wife Marilyn, and their son,
Brent, I could tell that everything about them and their dedication to their
business, was genuine. With Brentwood Livery, you get the distinct feeling of
being taken care of - the way you would when your Grandmother spoils you by
sneaking you a chocolate and a hug when no one else is looking.
Brentwood Livery is a family owned and run business that has been in operation
since 1990. It is one of the largest limousine companies found here in the
K-W/Cambridge/Guelph area and (unlike many large companies) is equally as
personable. David always greets you with a gigantic smile and Marilyn’s helpful
nature means that you're always in good hands. Brent, although only
'twenty-something', is already more of a dedicated business man than many adults
with ten years of management under their belts. People go into business for many
reasons. Many, simply for money. Others, for...

CJ's
Cakes destined to make a splash with at-home tastings, beautiful designs and
customizable flavours |
|
Sometimes,
when we're lucky, The Ring has the honour of finding a wedding artist who's
destined to make a splash. Jennifer Jantzi, Owner of CJ's Cakes is one of those
people. Jen
has been baking literally her whole life and is professionally trained in the
art of wedding cake design. With numerous cakes to her name, Jen has
turned her art into a career that treats brides with beautiful designs, one
wedding at a time. The Ring had the opportunity to interview and review Jen's
talents and be one of the first to describe her edible wedding creations, just
for you... Jen has been
baking since she was old enough to use the oven. "Actually, I’ve been baking
since I got my first Easy Bake oven," Jen jokes. "For several years I did
cakes for friends and family, for all of their special occasions. I’ve done
cakes for weddings, showers, baptisms, birthdays, and just about every other
occasion. After awhile I was getting more and more requests for my cakes." In
response to the high demand for her unique...

Posted Tue Feb
28, "Winter Wedding"
"Hi
All, I'm
Amanda and I just got engaged on Feb 16, 2006 our three year
anniverary, to my best friend. We've briefly looked at the site
and a few others but can't really plan anything until April when
we finish school. On the site I showed him the page on
off-season weddings, b/c K-W is extremely competitive during
May-Aug. He's interested in keeping up with our Feb tradition,
that being when we met and when we got engaged. Just wondering
if anyone who has done a winter wedding or knows of..."

Posted Thu Feb 23, "evening wedding
jitters..need help"
"ok
so its almost midnight and i can't sleep because I've got tons
of anxiety suddenly. My fiance and I have a plan to get married
on a Fri evening in Sept of this year and are pressing to get
the right place booked. WE want friday because think in the
eveing it will be more romantic, ppl wont be used to firday
weddings so it will be unique for our guests and I think the
evening (fancy hor deurves, choc fountain) is more of a gala
feel that we want. But tonight I was thinking about it and
started to worry because realized we would have to have a 7pm
ceremony to make sure out of town guest can be there after work
and our ceremony place is half an hour from the reception place
so by the time we have the ceremony and get to the next place,
settle in it probably wont be till 9pm. So Im worried because I
don't know when we could have time to do our pictures before
dark, if ppl would even want to come to a late reception
(starting at 9), food quantities because its so late I know ppl
would eat different amounts (how much do we get?), we would only
have the place till 1 for our reception so thats only 4 hours
and only three for dance...is that enough? will ppl mind driving
half an hour to get to the reception from the ceremony???..."

"I'm
amazed at how many sites there are dedicated to wedding
preparation and planning. I happened to stumble upon this site
by chance and it's great. Ok, so here's my story. Haven't told
it to anyone in a while but it's still fresh in my mind. My
fiancé lives in and grew up in the KW area or the K-dub as call
it.
I went
down becuz of his work christmas party Dec 10th/05. We did a bit
of shopping first then for lunch, all the while he kept saying a
surprise was forth coming. I had some idea, but wasn't too sure.
On our way back to his place, we passed the street he would
regularly turn down and when i asked where we were going he said
for your surprise! He took me to his elementary school and as we
walked around the building he gave me highlites of playground
fights and the like. He then told me to close my eyes as we
walked out into the field. When i opened my..."
