My Diary:
in-laws meeting
A&A:
"How did everyone arrange for their parents to meet their FH's
parents? Did they meet as soon as you were engaged, or did you wait
until just before the wedding? And what did you do if one set of
parents is divorced and both are remarried? Did you set up 2
different meetings? FH and I are trying to figure out how to do this
and it's tricky. My parents are divorced and both are remarried. His
parents live in a different city, so a quick coffee is out of the
question. plus they and are of a completely different cultural
background and have dietary restrictions (no meat at all, no
alcohol). We're worried about when and how to set this up, and what
they will find in common to talk about, among other things. We just
don't know how this will work. So hearing about other people's
experiences would be helpful!"

check the mail! And we only had 2 out of our 91 invites get returned
because of people moving etc. Not bad at all."

Advice Chat:
Please help - problem!!
Spunky Mom:
"Here is the situation: Our hall has a capacity of 250 people. Our
reception is on April 28th. We sent our invites in January - We put
on the invites just the couples name on the invitation - Mr and Mrs
Smith for example. We invited over 250 people knowing we would get
some "no" replies. I did not plan on inviting everyones children -
My fiance is European and from all of them we are getting back
replies that include all of their kids!! I got one back today for a
couple and their three kids coming! Should I have put on the
invitations "adult event only"??? We are getting married away and
coming back for just a reception from 7pm-1am - not a full on
wedding that day. Now - do I call these people and let them know
that sorry we are not having any kids? My fiance thinks many of them
won't come if they can't bring their kids as they don't have
babysitters - their family just babysits the kids and all the
family is at our wedding. I can't have some kids there but not
others? Does it not have to be kids or no kids and that is it? I
can't believe how stressed I am over this. It is supposed to be fun
and exciting getting married and I just feel like crying. What did
you do? Did you put kids or no kids on the invite? I would have put
Mr and Mrs Smith and family if I wanted kids! Or why don't they call
and ask before sending back the reply with all their kids??? HELP
PLEASE - any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks for
listening - I already feel better!

30 Days and Counting...:
WOW - How did I get here?! (20 DAYS
TO GO!)
CChapman: "Well
Ladies, It is officially the 30 day mark for my wedding! How on
earth did I get here? Honestly - enjoy every second of it, before
you know it, you're 30 days away! So I am feeling pretty excited
actually! I am in a bit of a unique situation....I am away for the 3
weeks beore the wedding, so I have to be "uber-organized" in order
to keep my sanity while I'm away! My work is sending me out west for
a conference from Feb 19th to March 1st. Then I'm home for 3 days,
then back on a plane to Calgary until the day before the wedding! I
know you all think I'm crazy, but I couldn't do anything about it,
and these dates have been planned for months! So anyways - here's
what I have left to do:
-
finish seating chart and organize all seating cards (choice of meal)
- have
final meeting with officiant, choose vows
- have
final dress fitting (YEAH - I LOVE IT!!!)
- have
hair and makeup trial
- have
final meeting with wedding planner
- make
myself BEAUTIFUL!!! (i.e loose that last 5 pounds, get rid of tan-lines,
keep skin moisturized, etc!!)..."

Hello Ladies :)
byersta: "Hello!
A few of my engaged friends have been raving about this site, so I
decided to check it out for myself. I got engaged in October on top
of the Eiffel tower in Paris to an amazing guy. Most of our major
planning is done, but I have heard this site is a great resource
with some great ladies too
Talk to you soon,
I'm sure, Tara"
