Wedding trends report with Shelley Inglis of Shell Design Weddings in Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo & Guelph
It's all about you
when you opt for extraordinary, custom made invitations.
"When you've got a great designer, your options
are endless," says Shelley Inglis of
Shell Design
Weddings. "We're definitely seeing
stationery being taken to the next level by brides and grooms... Jewels and
embellishments... Elegant, beautiful material and fabrics... Designs in deep
colours... You can even use a great box or container to display your
invitation or reception stationery." Because stationary has become such a
big part of the design and style of the wedding, couples are using each
piece to bring their theme together - from Save the Date cards and shower
invitations right through to the invitations and wedding day menus,
programs, table numbers, place cards and more.
Green weddings are the biggest theme of the year. "Eco-friendly weddings with a green theme are unique and rewarding. You can use environmentally-friendly jewellery, choose perennial flowers that can be taken home and planted by guests instead of thrown out, or choose some of a variety of other ways to tune into the planet and create a wedding that both celebrates your union and sends a great message."
Couture cakes steal the show. And the menu. Custom-designed wedding cakes are all about the details, details, details! "A great cake designer can match your theme and colours and do some amazingly intricate designs. This season they're also accessorizing with pearls, flowers and even fabric..." In fact, Shelley says, this season's wedding cakes are are so beautiful, you won't want to eat them!
