It's all about you when you opt for extraordinary, custom made invitations. "When you've got a great designer, your options are endless," says Shelley Inglis of Shell Design Weddings. "We're definitely seeing stationery being taken to the next level by brides and grooms... Jewels and embellishments... Elegant, beautiful material and fabrics... Designs in deep colours... You can even use a great box or container to display your invitation or reception stationery." Because stationary has become such a big part of the design and style of the wedding, couples are using each piece to bring their theme together - from Save the Date cards and shower invitations right through to the invitations and wedding day menus, programs, table numbers, place cards and more.

For eco-chic design company, Cinnamon Saturday, illustration, graphic design, layers of environmentally-friendly papers and accessories like ribbon and buttons are just some of the ways to create incredible and customized stationery.

Green weddings are the biggest theme of the year. "Eco-friendly weddings with a green theme are unique and rewarding. You can use environmentally-friendly jewellery, choose perennial flowers that can be taken home and planted by guests instead of thrown out, or choose some of a variety of other ways to tune into the planet and create a wedding that both celebrates your union and sends a great message."

Yellow is a BIG bold colour this year. "It was all over the fashion runways for Spring and Summer 2008, so you can expect to see yellow playing a big part in wedding colours." Gown shops and
decorators are stocked up and ready to deliver on this great, warm colour.

'Day-of Wedding Coordination' saves the day. Shelley says that 'day-of coordination' means a stress free wedding day. This planning option often begins days - if not weeks - ahead of the wedding day and doesn't end until the last dance. "It's definitely the most popular request I get... It's particularly great for couples who still like the whole hands-on aspect of the planning process but who don't want to worry about details on the wedding day."

Couture cakes steal the show. And the menu. Custom-designed wedding cakes are all about the details, details, details! "A great cake designer can match your theme and colours and do some amazingly intricate designs. This season they're also accessorizing with pearls, flowers and even fabric..." In fact, Shelley says, this season's wedding cakes are are so beautiful, you won't want to eat them!
